Ancient Rome, the great civilisation has suffered its fair share of civil conflict. The event known as the 'The Year of Four Emperors' is one such event where Rome was suffering from serious civil distress but they were able gain benefits from the conflict. The event which began in the aftermath of Emperor Nero's demise saw four random emperors claim the throne.

Up to this point its not hard to see that the senators were a bunch of equal minded and at times selfish people. A number of conspiracies and revolts were perpetrated by senators and noble families only for self beneficial gain. As suggested by the name, 'the year of four emperors', this was a time when the leadership of rome changed multiple times over the course of a year. Most if not all of these emperors are considered to be rather boring when it comes to their time as ruler, however the ruler known as Vespasian who took leadership after the three emperors is credited with bringing prestige back to the Roman government after years of problems that had plagued Rome for years.
